This
beautiful festival is in honor of the harvest of our department.
It is one
of the most important festivals in Santa Rosa, there are several dancers,
singers actors performing this big
show. Lights, sound, music, color, laser and fireworks are great too.
There are beautiful queens
of each district of Santa Rosa. They compete in a beauty contest where
personality and talent are incorporated too. The winner competes in the biggest
contest called Acto Central in the capital of Mendoza.The Blessing of Fruit and the Via Blanca de las Reinas
The Blessing of fruits is a religious ceremony where people are grateful for the fruits that have been harvested.

Festival of the Virgin of Itatí in September Ñacuñan residents honor the virgin of Itatí,thtough a religious called "the virgin paseito" wich involves horsemen, musicians, singers and tipic foods
History:
The Spanish
captain Antonio Chacon arrived in this area in 1563 he called this land Rodeo
del Chacón. During Mitres´s government in 1814 there were two battles.
In 1885,
the land was donated by Angelino Arenas and two years after the governor Rufino
Ortega created the Department of Santa Rosa.
Location:
Santa Rosa
is located between the cities of La Paz and San Martin. It´s extention is 8510
kilometers and has population of nearly 17000 people. They are five districts:

Santa Rosa
There are important
roads:
•
National road 7 connects other
provinces, San Luis, Córdoba, Buenos Aires and Santa Fe.

Provincial road 153; connects Las
Catitas with Montecomán (San Rafael)
•
Provincial road 71; the tourist
is driven to Rivadavia, Santa Rosa, Junín and San Rafael.
Monuments:
• Leonardo
Fabio´s monument is located en Las Catitas. He was a cinematic producer and
director, screenwriter, song writer, singer and argentine Syrian origin. He was
born in Las Catitas May 28, 1938.
• Las
Trincheras Monument. It is located in route 50. It was built in honor of the
fallen in battle in 1874.

Reserve
of Ñacuñan
The Reserve of NEYKU-ÑAM it is located to 180 km. the South-west of city of Mendoza, in the department of Santa Rosa. It was declared Reserve en 1961.
The Reserve is formed by 22.600
hectares of carob forest. In 1961 it was incorporated at the World Network of Biosphere and 1986 at
Reserves of the MAB Programme. (The Man and the Biosphere) NEYKU-ÑAM means
white eagle. Actually , the reserve is administered by the Instituto Argentino
de Investrigaciones de ZonasÁridas, it has a weather
LA SALADA DE CUYO
This is place that
you can go with your family and spend a day of fun. Here you can find a little
shops with clothes for women, men, kids; accessories, pair of shoes, and
traditional food like, hamburgers, hot dogs, jam of peach, jam of grape, home
made, vegetables, bazaar, etc. It’s open on Saturdays from 3:00 am until the
5:30 pm. All this products you can find the lowest prices.
La Salada de Cuyo is located at Av. Los
Plumeros in Ruta 7 -Santa Rosa.

tourist place of Santa Rosa, locatedonroute 50, Carril Retamo, La Costa,

of theUnion Europea and theDireccion General de Escuelas.
